I'm leaving for vacation in a few days and had 4 tubs of left over bait (canadian night crawler)from my son's cub scout fishing outing. I had them in the refrigerator, but thought that maybe I could re-start up my Can O'Worms composter (long story, but it was empty) and put the night crawlers into it - not so much to be as productive as it was before with the red wrigglers, but to keep the worms healthy and alive, maybe for future fishing, and some composting activity.

Since then, I've read a few things online that worried me about this. Should I dig them back up and put them in tubs and back in the refrigerator? I was afraid they would die in the refrigerator during the 4 weeks away, and not knowing when we would go fishing again.
