Normally you don't cut vines back until Fall to prep them for the winter. For these particular vines, I'd wait until then.

If the plants are overly large, you may want to trim them a bit before transplanting so they put energy into root formation instead of vine growing - but 6-8" on new plants sounds a bit much to me. How big are they?

Oh thank you they are in boxes that came from big lots so I would say they are about 1 1/2' tall,,

All three are highly invasive vines, if you are talking about the Chinese or Japanese Wisterias and the Japanese Honeysuckle. There are better choices. The Kentucky native Wisteria is not so invasive. And there are manageable sorts of Honeysuckle, of many different species and clones. Never met a Trumpet vine that did not have designs on taking over the Planet.
