While harvesting casting yesterday, I noticed a small black bug in the bin but I lost sight of it. I continued shifting thru the bin taking out the casting, bedding and worms. Finally I found the lil bugger. Took him out and took some pictures of it (sorry for the lousy shots). He moves fast. I put in on the floor and he met the bottom of foot. i don't know how he got in there. My bin is sealed pretty good and it's inside the house.

What bug is that?

Did I just save my worm bin for a predator?

try bug ID: The picture isn't definitive enough to count legs, identify those pincers (which look definitve to me ) . . . If the picture were edited down to just the insect, you could use google image search. As shown there is too much blue and shine to match with an online bug.

Yes I used to see those a lot in my younger years but not lately. I just called them pincher bugs

Nope, not an earwig! :) Earwigs have pincher looking things on the other end of their body

I think the pincer/pincher on your bug is different from a common ground beetle.

ground beetle or basement bug is my guess
