Morning glory, only a climber?

Hey all, I love the pictures of morning glory on the seed packets so I bought about a hundred of them and then I find out that you put it on a trellis! I can't have a trellis on my apartment. I had been planing to use it for ground cover. Will this work?! I haven't planted yet. This is my first year as a gardener and I am still preparing the soil. What should I do? HELP!!!!! Thanks for the input.

(usually available only as clonal plants) will also ramble along the ground...does NOT survive heavy freezes...(!)

Ipomoea tricolor will also scramble along the ground if it doesn't have anything to climb up onto...
