honeysuckle goldflame - what should I expect?

I just planted a huge pot of goldflame and made a trellis with 2 arched bamboo crossed over it. I'm afraid not tall enough as the plant is already 2 feet tall and the trellis only a foot taller.

Do they grow out of control? Can I safely control their growth habit without harming it?

Do they need any special care? Fertilizer, pruning in the spring?

They can get big but are easy to manage and nothing like the invasive variety. Once established I've never watered mine and I don't feed it. Cutting it back doesn't bother it. The only problem I have is aphids. The blooms are an aphid magnet! I use blasts of water from the hose and ladybugs. I buy ladybugs by the thousands. If released in the evening many will remain on the infested plants and feed but if released during the day most will take off. It's a pretty carefree plant.
