Vines for pergola

DH built me a large pergola 10' x 16'. He is putting white square stepping stones underneath so that I can put large pots with vines at the corners. I already have several options large enough to start vining up. One is a Mexican Flame Vine that is root bound and will need to either be cut in half and repotted, another is a Dutchman's Pipevine (A. Fimbrata), and a Clematis - Polish Spirit. The later two are smaller and will take time to grow. The two northern corners will get some shade from Crepe Myrtles this summer, but for most of the year will be in the sun. What will be the best for each end or should I try just the Mexican flame Vine alone? It is not in bloom now, just finished.

I am a butterfly gardener so I realize that the Pipevine may get eaten and that would be okay since it wouldn;t be the only vine planted. I will try to get a picture posted later today.
