I don't know if it's available in the UK but the brand paper shredder I've been using for corrugated cardboard is a Fellows Powershred. So look up the brand Fellows and see if you can get it there.

Yes, someone come back and share the model number please. I just looked down from my computer at our shredder, and it IS also a Fellows Powershred 'PS 40'. I have not tried cardboard in it, there is a little picture that indicates it will shred up to 5 sheets of paper at once, but I don't want to burn this thing out by trying cardboard on it in error, and who knows where dh has placed the manual? (ours is at least 5 or 6 years old).

I don't mind the wetting and tearing technique either, maybe I will try that instead.

Ok, my Fellows shredder (I believe the box said powershred but it doesn't actually say it on the unit) The number on the unit is DM12C

It is a really heavy duty one that I think is supposed to do maybe 20 sheets of paper at a time and be able to shred a lot of stuff before it overheats. I can shred corrugated cardboard in it but only what easily fits into the slot. really think corrugated cardboard won't go in and we usually just wet that down and throw it unshredded into the worm bin.

I think most shredders state how many sheets of paper they will shred, mine does 12 sheets, according to the instructions, I can fit the corogated cardboard in the slot, but I only do one or two fruit boxes in a shredding session, it does not over heat. So if you can get one that does 12 sheets or better, it would probably be ok, it just depends on how much time you need each time you use it.

I've used a shredder with a ~12 page capacity, and they will work, but will wear out over time. I'd recommend something in the 20-24 sheet range that can also shred CD's - should do fine for most cardboard. I personally have a 24 sheet Staples brand strip cut that works beautifully.

I have a 24 sheet paper shredder that I have used for a year on cardboard, with no problems.

I do a lot of compost and experiment. I have found that corrugated cardboard breaks down just fine without shredding. Put it in the pile in thin layers of cardboard and other things. Wet it well. In a week it is already coming apart and in a couple of weeks mostly gone.

A number of others have suggested soaking the cardboard for a few minutes before putting it in the pile. That works well too.
