Sometimes new growth will turn that color if exposed to very bright light.
Are you aware it is possible that a wisteria seedling can take 21 years or more to bloom if ever? Fastest way to find if you like the flowers and are willing to wait is to graft a part of the seedling onto an existing mature wisteria.

hmmm well it's been in the same window since i planted it, and the light hasn't changed.
and yes i am aware of the length of time it could take, lol. These seeds are from my mom's old wisteria and i really don't mind waiting, in fact i am a weirdo i guess b/c i am enjoying it. thanks for your help!!

New growth on my Wisteria Chinensis is red, and will turn green as summer comes on. An ID tip, is Chinensis grows counter-clockwise. (Wisteria Japonica is clockwise.)
