I'm not sure if it's either of the plants suggested above mainly because of your description of the fruit;

"Pods are beginning to form. They are pinkish and look like the ones on Red Bud trees"

Malabar Spinach produces purplish berries where as Coral Vine's seeds are encased in a dry papery calyx which doesn't look much like a legume's pod...

You can save the seeds (they look like oreo cookies when mature...lol) and replant next year too! I'm still replanting seeds from a couple years ago and save pods each year.
