Both of the vines you mention like a lot of heat to get going. It takes until July to even notice either vine in PA. And then there are the Morning Glory seeds that will come up everywhere.

If you have never grown MGs, then you cannot anticipate the next year when hundreds of seedlings erupt from any piece of ground within a 1/2 mile of where you grew them last year. Maybe you need to save seeds from the I. turbinata, I don't know. Both are mentioned as pests or noxious weeds in parts of the South, so you may not need to ever replant them.
