I have a silver lace vine. I needed something to grow fast and cover a privacy screen, and it was just the right vine for that. I control mine by cutting it down either after freeze in fall or in early spring. It is slow to come back, but grow rapidly after that. My Clematis Ernest Markham was also a very rapid grower.

Thank you. I think I'll take my chances with the silver lace vine. If I plant it this fall the roots will have time take hold and by next summer I should get good cover.

I get complete coverage of a 40' long privacy fence by mid-summer with simple morning glories. Beauty of it is that they self-sow, so I never have to plant them again. ;o)
