I purchased a can o worms bin about 9 months ago and my worms now seem to be happily eating away at the scraps in my second layer. I have a little query, when I lift the second layer off (so that I can see the first layer) my worms just seem to be sitting on the surface enjoying themselves. Is this normal, I would have thought they would be buried within that layer not sitting on top. Is it just a case that they sit on top as it is easy access to the scraps in the second layer? I'm hoping they're not on top because they don't like whats underneath. My population doesn't seem to be decreasing but nor does it seem to be increasing, however I have always seen alot of worm eggs in the castings. Maybe I'm just being to obsessive with my underground friends.
