Are those blooms on the same vine?

If it is on the same vine, then what you are growing is Emma's gift and the bloom that appears to be knoila black is one of the many various blooms that you can get with Emma's gift.

I have had that bloom dozens upon dozens of times in the past 5 years of growing Emma's gift.

The dark bloom you have doesn't look like knoila black to me or any of the blooms I have had from knoila black and I have been growing that particular morning glory for many, many, many years.

Fran, the blooms are from different vines, but the seeds were from the same packet labeled Kniola's black. About a year ago I ordered Hollyhock seeds on Ebay. I received a little bonus pack of what was labeled Kniola's Black. The ones I tried last year were striped as well, although I had the occasional solid dark one it always had at least one light stripe somewhere. This was the first time I had the all-over solid with no white stripe.

lurking, I see the resemblance to Rebecca, but don't think mine looks anything at all like a Joyce Cobb, although in fairness another person did send me a pic off the forum of a Joyce Cobb thinking as you did that it may be one of mine...

There is a resemblance to Rebecca, but the flower shape is not correct.

The shape of the flower is consistent with that of Emma's gift/aomaraski

I agree with 'eyes' accessment that the photo you posted is likely a Rebecca x Joyce Cobb Cross of some type and the reason 'eyes' mentioned they were related is because they are both 'colorpoint' purpureas.

The colorpoints have a relative dilute area around the throat with the strongest coloration being at the 'tips' of the main fold. Hence, referred to as 'colorpoints'.
