Ants AND Flies

I'm confused. My outdoor Worm Factory has both ants and flies (with some potworms thrown in for good measure). I thought that ants indicated that the environment was too dry, and that flies and potworms indicated that it was too wet. How can it be both at the same time?

FYI: Where I am in San Francisco it is currently 64°F, Cloudy, with 73% Humidity. This is normal for a SF summer.
