I finally got fed up and used Ortho Brush-B-Gon on some of the neighbor's grapevines that were invading our yard. (Neighbor doesn't want the vines, but is just too lazy to do anything about them.) I just tried one little area behind our gazebo, and I noticed the other day that everything is looking nice and icky back there. :oD

This is a "round-up" type product, so you need to apply with care if there are things that you do care about in the same area. I actually used a syringe and needle and injected it into some areas where I was afraid of accidentally getting it on a nearby plant.

It may take a couple of years to get all the "motherships", but I think you'll probably have to go the chemical route to kill off the roots.
