Climbing Hydrangea not climbing

I planted a climbing hydrangea on a north facing brick wall a year ago spring. I had some very good growth this year, but all of a sudden the vines are no longer climbing. I don't know exactly what happened, but I think they may have been accidentally pulled down by the landscaper while he was trimming some nearby shrubs. What do I do? Do I cut them back to where they are still sticking to the wall(which is very low to the ground)? If I try to keep the on the wall with some kind of clips will they eventually start clinging again? I'm so disappointed any advice would be appreciated.

Hi,
They will cling again. Mine were not that high and was able to use some bamboo poles to make them touch the wall again. Then they started to stick again. If yours are high then what ever you can figure to make it touch the wall again. But if you have difficulties, don't feel bad, just trim them and let them grow again.

Thanks Remy. I decided to use fun tack. When I went out this morning, I see it has already started to cling again.

I have a climbing hydrangea vine thats about 5 years old on a cyclone type fence. It seems to grow very sporadically. One year it grew almost ten inches than hardly a inch the next. One year profuse flowers, this year TWO!
I've heard it takes quite a few years to get really going.
