I have no idea. There has been a number of posters around the world with an interest in vermicomposting with no access to worms to purchase.

The type of worms commonly used are often found in horse manure as that is possibly their preferred food. Possibly a start could be captured from the same or something similar.

Many of us here started out by capturing our worms from environments where worms hang out.

Increasing a small supply of worms into a bit bigger and finally the right amount of worms for a vermicomposters set up what we all have fun, or sometimes not so much fun, doing.

Where to purchase red wigglers or Alabama jumpers in Saudi Arabia is a bit out of my area of expertise. But I hear horses are a big thing there. Horse apples can not be far behind. Perhaps you can somehow have access to some stables.

Because of the nature of the topic a few of us subscribe to the "capture your own worms" theory. I too subscribe to it. But when I did order worms with a new bin and opened that bag o worms I was in worm heaven. So many squirmy squirms. Just what I was looking for to eat my kitchen scraps.

Whether you can find worms commercially through a google search or via equinox^2's find in situ method, breeding is not a problem.

Provide the worms with a welcoming environment (see the forum, including Chuckie's rehash of worms 101, 102, etc.) and they will take care of the breeding. If they have food and bedding they are happy with, they will make more worms to fill it.

In an otherwise not-dense bin, worms will squirm together in a melon bowl: that is, half a melon with seeds and most melon removed. The worms need to get together to reproduce.
Put the melon bowl in a corner, fill it with bin contents, and cover it. Do not disturb. The worms will still be in orgy -- for a while-- when the melon bowl is gone.

The kind of worm most used in bins is mostly found in leaf debris. They also are in horsemanure when there is enough air.

This is video is 17 minutes long. It is mostly about composting leaves. Composting kitchen scraps with worms is in the last minutes , but IMO the entire video is worth the time.

One reason for my little Arabic exercise: I wondered if our forum, recently under scrutiny (by potential expatriates of it) for lacking editing and script enhancement capability, could do the conversions.

About the worms: I don't know if any grower could ship them to that side of the world. Or would. $$. How fast can a package be delivered from an overseas origin?
