my first harvest that i used millipedes and burrowing worms was pitch black. feed mainly old compost made out of leaves, newspaper,cardboard. majority of the piles was OLD compost so it didn't take long for it to compost took maybe about a month till i harvested due to making a new bin with actual red wigglers instead which was jsut recently 3 days ago. the bin i harvested from i feed pretty much banana peels mainly since we go through a LOT of banana's, lettuce, tomatoes, and 1 corn.

i do compost regularly as well without worms that compost is brown.

the vermicompost i harvested were like little pellets maybe like rabbit poop sized pellets i let it dry out for 2 days before using and it was still moist a little.
