How come every place but here has pretty bindweeds? lol All I have is that horribly invasive, impossible to eradicate white flowered variety. I just can't get rid of it. Any suggestions? Sorry for hijacking your thread.

Karyn1 I have only one suggestion, my emergency method to eradicate the worst of the worst, poison ivy. Got to take care of that one, no matter what I have to use cause my daughter is deadly allergic to to it and has almost died 3 different times from exposure.

I do know this method will work, a friend of mine used it on zone 8 and it worked.

It's Roundup® Poison Ivy Plus Tough Brush Killer, not the regular roundup weed and grass killer.

You may have to use it several times during a growing season though. I took my friend, all spring, summer and fall to get the areas of bindweed gone, but the following spring, 95% of it was gone and the following year all was gone and she hasn't seen any for the past 5 years.

As long as you don't mind using this type of chemical, you have nothing to lose but the money to buy it and the time to use it.

very pretty everyone seems to hate bindweed but i love the flowers on it. trying to find certain ones . maybe it will survive in my drought yard. we hardly get any rain.

I like it too...I am thinking about putting some along the fence where my dogs run...better than mud!!

Thanks Ron. I think it is very pretty. Just how invasive is it? I would like to collect some seeds but I don't want to start something I can't control. I have the white flowered type Karyn refers to and I would not want to add anything that behaves that badly.
