I was just looking at that unit 5 minutes ago. I to would like to know if someone has one and has used it, forming a judgment whether it is worth the money or not.

Has anyone tried this worm harvester

I am not familiar with this product specifically, and a Google search didn't turn up anything that seemed to be the one in question. Can anyone post a URL that provides a description? Thanks.

Sorry I can't add anything of value here, but everytime I read this title I think it says, "HORN WORM HARVESTER" lol. To think someone would be that sadistic to actually WANT to raise them makes me laugh... and cry hahahaha.

The site is filled with misinformation like worm castings being bad for worms, but other than that the design itself is solid.

Unfortunately asking for advice from wormers on garden web is usually unproductive as most of the experienced wormers have been banned or simply migrated to a more hospitable bin since iviallage bought the place and ran people off.

Nevertheless the harvester device is sound.

It is also easily replicatable with a 5 gallon bucket and hardware cloth for a lot less money. Cut the bucket in half and glue the hardware cloth between the halves. Load the bucket with worm stuff, tilt it slightly toward the hardware cloth and rotate. The poop falls though the hardware cloth while the unprocessed food and worms *mostly* remain in.

Cocoons will also readily fall through the hardware cloth.

As easy way to duplicate this is to simply use a 5 gallon bucket and lay the hardware cloth over the top. Add bin material and shake a bit. Whatever falls though into the bucket you harvest and whatever doesn't readily fall through goes back into the bin.

Perfect? No. Nothing is.

Not really there are about 770 different hornworms only about 3 are really devasting types, Tobacco, tomato and catapula
