If worried about seeds- shred everything, and pile them all together (all the piles). Run through a hot compost cycle.

There's a bit less nutrient for worms after a hot cycle, but it will be compressed and hold moisture much better (along with killing weed seeds).

I am most concerned with reducing volume although the seeds from porcelain berry are naughty.
Thanks for the info. The worms are already munching but they are going slowly. My hope is to get them to eat faster.

I don't know your particular plants, but I can assure you that many seeds will continue after being vermicomposted.

I've stored my vermicompost just to open the storage bin and find lots of little sprouts (usually tomato).

I am not too worried about the seeds (even though they are persistent). If the seeds sprout in the compost on top of the asphalt they won't get very far. My main goal is to reduce volume of material. It looks like the worms are helping but they are going slow. The worms are pretty good at eating the leaves but the actual vines they don't seem to have much of an appetite for. Maybe if I chop up the vines more they will be more palatable to the worms (and will be quicker to decomp in any event).

The volume will be reduced by maybe 25% or more if you hot compost for a week, turn, and let it run another week before spreading for the worms. Traditional composting will knock the volume down by 50% and make it into much more palatable worm food.
