question about ipoemea batatas ''tricolor'' vine.....

Hi - I have saved the tricolor sweet potato vine tubers, from last year. They are the one with - cream/green and pink on the leaves. I, really liked the leaf colors.

I, planted them out this summer. Fertilized and watered - the usual routine. They, were in great potting soil and part sun.

They grew, really well.

My question, they grew but no tricolor on them. Just green.

Does, anyone know why? Any, advice appreciated.

tina_2 - Do you have any photos of the current leaves to post (?)...

Generally the application of some of the Macro nutrients will help the ornamental Ipomoea batatas to display the pigmentation more vividly,but maybe the macro-nutrients overcame the loss of coloring materials in this particular variegated plant...(?)

The additional of the fertilizer may have overcome the genetic tendency towards the variegation,but it is an unusual situation...

Try no fertilizer next season and see if the variegation returns...(!)
