You might get a better response if you posted the website in question so we could take a look at the harvesting device you are referring to.

Heres what I do: (I agree that a pic of the apparatus would be great)

We had a small cat litter box, with the snap-on side-shield to prevent spillage. I washed/bleached it out really well. I flipped the shield part over, and placed window screen on the bottom, making a small tray with a mesh bottom. Wired the mesh on really good.

I place bedding into the tray, and agitate, or leave it be. Its self-agitation separates decently without risk of killing worms

I hand pick large clumps of worms and throw them back. You can also hand pick all the worms out, and shake like heck to get the castings out.

Ive seen operations that put feed on top of screen, and the worms migrate up, but that takes too long for me. I rarely have worms go down through my sifting screen.

I take the easy (lazy) way out. I let them crawl in the feed bag, and then move that to the next bin.

Thank you for the replies. I have read some of the posts dealing with compost harvesting, but this product seems so much faster than other methods that I just wanted to ask around to see if anyone has tried it.
