How many is several and how many did you start with?
Worms on a lid is not that uncommon. Go through the checklist.

When you squeeze the bedding how much water drips out of your hand?

What is the temperature of the bedding?

Does it smell?

Have you added any more food in the last two weeks?

i started with 1/2 lb of worms from supplier, they were quite small when i got them.

The amount of worms on lid is about 15-20 i would say.

when i squeeze bedding a few drops drip in my hand.

Temp of bedding is about 68

Bin smells like wet cardboard.

I have added about a handful of food so far (cut up peapods)

Don't panic, 15-20 out of a half pound is not a lot. They may just like the condensation on the under side of the lid.

Worms have there own ideas of where they like to be. Its not always where we think they should be.

Mine have moved to the garage, since I got some encs I had been keeping a light in the bin. Now in the garage I keep the lid off and the light on. No straying what so ever.

Make sure that your air holes are large enough. They like lots of fresh air.

If there is a storm they may bolt due to the change in barometric pressure.

If they are happy they will stay.
