There are some who argue that a properly maintained bin will not have any drainage at all. I always found that hard to achieve. Keep a spray bottle on hand and spray the dry areas. You should be fine.

As for the temperature of your basement, if you are comfortable there, the worms will be too.

If your worms are getting fat, you're doing it right. You want your bin bedding "damp, but not soggy". That means that little or no water is dripping out. It's not that "there's supposed to be a few drops every week", as much as "there shouldn't be more than a few drops every week".
