I might get yelled at for this, but I bought 63 Euro's from my local Walmart back in July of this year. I now have a 10 gallon tote and a 2 gallon breeding container of them . They were sold in the sporting department as trout worms at 30 to a container for around 3 bucks. I have no way of knowing if all Walmarts have the Euro's for Trout worms or if they sell different worms in different area's. They also had Canadian Night Crawlers so buy with care. Check those containers for healthy worms.

Curt, I'd be the LAST person to yell at you. I bought 32 EH's at Walmart a little over a year ago. Now I have a couple bins. That is not near what I should have but I mismanaged the bin so completely that I was going to quit worm-keeping altogether.

Some of the worms survived and I kept going... Just shows what a little perseverance can do....

You don't get yelled at. You get EXTRA POINTS for starting with inexpensive, or few, or free worms. Starting a thriving bin with a few found cocoons I imagine would earn the highest award.

How many points does the person who sends you a few cocoons to get you started get?

Less than for donating a kidney. As mine were a few mutts harvested from my compost bin I am not qualified to determine. Those who have received cocoons may wish to comment.

Well, I did receive some cocoons from pjames, and I saw my first hatched worm this morning from this batch. He was up against the side of the insectarium that they are in, and then he moved away from the side, because of the light, I suppose.

I looked and many of the other cocoons are still in tact, so this must one of the older cocoons hatching. Hopefully the others will come out and play soon.

I would say the sender of the cocoons would get at least double points compared to the person who merely starts with a few worms/cocoons and builds an "empire" from there!

From what I have seen of the senders they should get triple points at least. They not only send worms they share the best information.
