Those are not split personality. Split personality is red with a white throat and the bloom looks like it has been torn.

Thanks for the info, BRice!

Meg :)

Meg, looks like Tye Dye! Do a search. :) Arum

Hi Arum ~
I thought they might be Tie Dye at first, but my searches all came up with bloom sizes of 5"-6"....this is true for the other Tie Dye MG's in my garden but not for these. These are 3" at best.

Thanks anyway ~
Meg : )

This looks like what you have. DonÂt let the French text put you off; there is an English translation further down the page. The text claims it is a variety of Ipomoea Tricolor, which is incorrect. I think it is actually the result of crosses between Ipomoea Nil and Ipomoea Purpurea.

Here is a link that might be useful: Shibori Morning Glory

Thanks for the information, MusaRojo ~
I recieved an email from a well-known GW'er who is quite familiar with MG's. He suggested that the variety was the "'flaked' strain of
Ipomoea purpurea aka Aomurasakisibori in Japanese..."

I did trade for some 'flaked' MG's last year and must have switched tags as I have the real Split Personality growing elsewhere in the garden.

Meg :)
