That info sounds off.

I remembered reading about a euros vs red wigglers experiment at redwormcomposting.com and the euros did better with the paper product beddings than the reds.

According to the owner of the page:

"Pound for pound, will Euros process cardboard bedding (when primary food source) more quickly than Red Worms? Will they once again reproduce more quickly?"

I have not had good luck with corrugated cardboard in my systems but that's just me.

I can understand that Euros don't like CB and it will be around like, forever. However, it will eventually break down too, the mites will take care of that.

My cardboard disappears very quickly. I shred it before adding to the bin.

Once again I agree with otis11. Eventually, something in the bin will eventually break down the cardboard. Until then it provides surface area or structure or something.

I started with a mixed bag of Euros and Reds but I don't know what exists today. Mainly as bedding I use newspaper with some compressed cardboard (egg cartons) but have been using a lot of shredded leafs since this fall.
