I have fed horse manure, both green and aged, to my worms, and they love it! You can raise worms on nothing but aged manure if you want to.

Cheers for that. I have a couple small bins going so I can raise up the poundage of them....but then I read about how much they can eat once you get the bins to maximum capacity...OMG! So I thought as manure is free for the taking around my place....I could keep the food supply up. The missus and I couldnt produce enough waste between the 2 of us for 30 lbs of worms ( thats what Im aiming for ).

dave, I have raised red wigglers in outdoor compost bins for both cow and horse manure. The horse manure bin had bedding straw included and it took about six months of warm weather for the red wigglers to pulverize the 'biscuits' and straw. The red wigglers got in to the cow manure bin by accident and quickly took the bin over replacing the original occupant...European night crawlers. I also use these outdoor bins for garden scraps in the fall. Any over ripe vegetables (apples, potatoes, tomatoes, cucumbers and squash) and ground corn cobs go into these bins and by spring they have been completely devoured.
