I have Rebecca viola I too just got it this year but it is suppose to be a perennial. I hope it is. I also know they reseed themselves, I have a few Freckle viola because of reseding.

I have had 'Rebecca' in my garden for 3 years. This spring--after a winter where we had below zero temps without any snow cover--the plant is smaller than last year, but there are several flowers on it. So I would say it is quite hardy. I planted it where it gets direct sun while its leaves emerge, then when the leaves on the trees get bigger it gets dappled sun for the rest of spring and summer.

Do you find that it reseeds like some do? I have other types that reseed like crazy. just purchase rebecca a few weeks ago as it says will bloom most of the summer. And I'm hoping its a reseeder

No, 'Rebecca' has not re-seeded for me, and if it did, I'm not sure it would come true, maybe, but doubtful.

I'm just southeast of Chicago, not sure if zone 5 or 6 (mile from the lake).

I bought Rebecca last year in bloom, it stopped blooming after planting. Planted it under a lilac bush, not much sun. When the lilac started shading it and the creeping charlie encroached this spring, I moved it to under a rose bush.

It's growing in the new spot, but no blooms yet. I don't know if it will bloom or not from being moved so late (late April or so). Is it only a spring bloomer or will it continue if it ever starts? Gets mostly just morning sun, although a little in afternoon.

Rebecca is still flowering for me, although fewer blooms. If I remember correctly, when I am diligent about deadheading (I have not been this spring) it keeps producing a few flowers most of the summer. Mine gets very little sun right now, after all the trees and shrub have leafed out.

it says its a pretty much all summer bloomer.

I bought 2 of these at a buy 1 get 1 free sale. They were planted at the beginning of last month and are still in bloom. They're on the north side of my house but still receive a few hours of sun in the morning. I HOPE they are hardy to zone 5 like the tag said they would be.

Anybody know where to purchase them in Oregon or elsewhere on the West Coast? I have a sister in Oregon named Rebecca that needs a couple. (She doesn't know it yet!!)
