Screech Owl Under eave

Here's a screech owl under the eave of a house/biz. It's been there for at least a month, bins+handheld camera on an overcast day didn't do too good but you should be able to see it.

How cool to have one move in. I can't tell from the photo, Is there an opening for a nest there or is it just sitting on a ledge?

A couple years ago, we had what looked like a baby owl, about the size of a sparrow, wedged into a groove above our front door. It was after a storm and we wondered if something had happened to its nest. It was there for hours, gone the next day, then back again. Its wings weren't fully developed so I don't think it put itself there. It didn't look like it could've moved if it wanted to but I was afraid to bother it in case it was the mama that put it there. I'll never know.

Tis a hole it can go down into (it's sitting just above the hole) but it prefers to stay toward the outside just under the eave of the a frame. It isn't my house but it's a an old house turned into a biz a few miles up the road.
