I have a problem. I recently started feeding the birds outside my apartment in Hudson valley (NY). But my landlord says if he sees any squirrles, I have to take it all down. I just bought about $20 worh of seed....!!! (that's a lot for a college student....)

I think it's pretty silly but he says he's had experiences with squirrels getting into the apartments and ransacking.

Any suggestions...other than check with the landlord, first, next time...I hate to take away the food now that I've started feeding. I've had a really good turnout in just a few days.

I started with a cheap feed that had lots of millet and cracked corn. I switched today to a mixture of black oil, nijyer, safflower, sunflower hearts, and canary seeds. Will I continue to attract squirrels with this?
