any morels yet in your area?

The morels are just getting started here...I haven't gone looking yet but someone said just a few days ago that the first ones were just now poking up. With the gentle steady rain that we got last night I am willing to bet that there is a batch or two out there waiting for me to put my boots on and get at it.

I have a nice roast marinating in the fridge and a fresh mess of morels would really go great with it!

where are you in illinois dirtgirl? i'm up around springfield. no morels yet, we need some warmer temps and some rain. another couple of weeks and we'll be fryin' up bunches! can't wait!!

We've had several since mid-March, but I'm in northern Alabama. It's been raining all week, so I'm sure we'll get a huge crop of all kinds of fungi this weekend. I wish I were better at identifying some of the stranger ones I'm not used to seeing.
