I took the test over because I made a mistake and put that my house plants were growing but after thinking about it they are growing and have babies.

Ha, look at that, I am a sunflower. Why could anyone be anything else. Sunflowers grow quick, have big heads and sturdy feet. The bugs love them and when ripe are harvested for the seeds. Sounds just like me.

That makes me sound like I like to brag about stuff - I really don't do that - as a matter of fact, I work hard trying not to do that. Although there was the time when I won this award from Keep Texas Beautiful and my husband wanted me to tell my MIL and FIL and I even said, "Oh, they don't need to hear about that." But he said go ahead and tell them. So I did and in the middle of telling them, MIL interrupted to tell me about their new red truck and how red it was. That darned truck was "RED, RED, RED!" according to her. I just ignored her and kept telling my FIL who was very happy for me. But that really is one of the few times I was bragging . . . hee-hee!

Like I said, that was a fun quiz!

Many flowers are much maligned in this world. I love cannas, as they are tough, reliable, readily available, AND.........I think they are pretty.

I planted many in my garden, starting years ago with a big tall ORANGE one! My neighbor wouldn't take any of them, because they were 'those orange things', so she will forever do without flowers from my garden. Because she wouldn't take them, I now have a "Cream, White, Yellow and Orange" garden. It is a delight- to me, and to the neighbors. Well, I don't know about THAT neighbor, but the rest of them like it.

The thing is, you can take the most common of plants and use it in such a way that is is stunning. Nothing pleases me more that to see people slowing down to look at what is growing in those green tire urns...........

Big honkin' orange cannas with purple heart at the base. So many massed together is just BOO'FULL!

To me, at least, and I am only trying to please myself at this stage of my life.

Janie, I'm with you.... I please me, and if someone else comes along and enjoys it, then it is a major plus, but not a requirement. LOL

Janie, sorry if I stepped on your toes with my opinion about Cannas. I tried to avoid that with my "no offense" note. We all have different tastes, which is a good thing. Wouldn't it be boring if we all had an affinity for the same things?

I'm with you on the "only trying to please myself at this stage of my life" thing.

Yes, I'm going to water your plants while you are in jail for sellin possum dogs. I am NOT going to be out there digging them up and moving them to Galveston. Too many fishhooks for me. LOL. Yes, the men were lifting stuff with the appendage that are not the arms and legs. Little oriental guys swinging big weights around. Luckily they had a covering like our dancing friend above.
I like most canna, but that orange one! GRRR! It is worse than the passiflower! It REALLy wants to take over the world. I spent 2 days digging it out of the side yard, and it's back!

Well there are cannas and then again there are

I don't much like cannas either... and I'm not sure why. In my mind this dislike is oddly associated with my absolute abhorrence of candles as a child. Yes, I hated candles with a passion. I guess it was the way the wax felt. Somehow those big, floppy leaves and blooms go with candle wax in my poor little peabrain. Of course, I really *like* candles now. Makes no sense at all.

Of course, THAT is the kind of canna we all are! Verrrrrry special, totally bee-ute-eful, and completely exotic!

AND, we are smart too. LOL
