Sorry to sorta hijack your thread but I have a question and it's about bats so I didn't know if I should put it here or risk opening a new thread. What I need to know is, is it imperative to put the bathouse in the sun? I know all the bat sites say it IS but then I always see bat houses up in trees and there's no way they get sun except in the winter when there's no leaves on the trees. I live in southern Ontario so we have very hot summers and very cold winters.
