Is this normal?

I tried some winter sowing this year and I think it was fairly successful. Was it better than just direct sowing after last frost? I don't know. Anyway, some of the stuff I did were larkspurs and snapdragons. Both of which I thought were spring plants. Well, obviously they were just small this spring, but I left them anyway. I just figured that I had missed the boat on their flowers this year and that it would be too warm. But, my larkspurs are going crazy right now and I just saw some of the snapdragons are begining to bloom. I thought that I had read somewhere here that snapdragons were a cooler weather annual and that some people had already taken out the spent ones. Isn't it too late for the snapdragons (I know obviously not if they are blooming not, but is this normal)?
