I was recently going through an issue of the Missouri Conservationist and came across an interesting issue on albinism. This was a timely thing, considering I just posted not long ago about an albino deer.

I don't know if you have access to this publication or not, but one of the photos is of a juvenile snake, which is identified in an adjoining caption as being a young (albino) copperhead. I will be the first to tell you, I'm by no means a snake expert-especially where our local "Big Three", the copperheads, rattlers, and moccs, are concerned since they are so uncommon here in my county. But there's just something about that photo that says juvenile Elaphe to me, not copperhead. THe only thing I know for certain is that the pupil appears to be round in that shot, not elliptical, but that could be due to the lighting I guess.

Thought of you and figured if you had seen the mag and the shot you would be the one to settle this for me.
