Around here, they just freeze to the ground.

I agree with the Professor. They just seem to snuggle down in the protection of the leaves. Of course, if the flower stalk has stretched high above the leaves, you're out of luck.

When MY tulips experience a cold spell, they retreat to their beds with a cup of warm cappuccino, a good book, and down comforters made with only the finest French goose down.
