We were given a crinum over 15 years ago and were instructed to plant it deep where it would never need to be moved. It gets larger each year and this year it put up bloom stalks from May to September. Have read that crinums live forever so hope you will enjoy yours as much as we have ours. EP

There are 'hardy' and tender kinds but few are very hardy. Assuming that yours is suited to the open garden I would suggest giving some protection in the event of frosts by the application of a thick mulch of garden compost or well decayed manure.
