What is the fee for the rootstocks?

Probably $1 to $2 each. We should have a wide variety of rootstocks. Both standard and dwarfing rootstocks for pear, apple, and plum/peach/cherry. Hope to see you there!

So... grafts will be made from scion a person brings onto rootstock. Then they'll have to callus inside from that time until spring?

Scion will be available for free in the class. Then when you take home your tree/trees you can keep it/them outside if you wish but if the graft gets bumped before it has calloused it could be a problem. You never know where a bird will want to land in your yard. I prefer to pot up my trees when I get home and bring them inside to keep them safe.

Do you know of any such classes in Western Wisconsin in the River Falls/Hudson area? I would love to try it, but McFarland is a four-hour drive from us. Thanks. Northwoodswis.

Looks like there will be a class through the Driftless folk school. Check it out. It looks like its a bit closer.

Hey anyone, got any Krymsk 1 or Krymsk 5? Wildforager, do you have any rootstock left like St Julien, or what was it you had for plum/peach/cherry? I was the one with 5643 scions of seckel. If anybody wants any seckel pear scions, or mock orange cuttings (they grow like weeds) lemme know. I am in Cudahy. Is there another thread for listing scions, rootstock, etc... you would like to trade or post?
