Rain Barrel

We moved into our home in November, and we can see that there will be water drainage problems. So, I would like to put in rain barrels on three sides of our home (the fourth will be drained towards where my very first veggie garden will be!). Does anyone have any tips or ideas on rain barrels? Since we need so many of them, I would like to build them ourselves. Thanks!

In the Milwaukee area, MMSD sells black plastic pickel barrels complete with screen and spiget for $20.

I wish we lived closer to Milwaukee to pick some up there. They sell them in other stores for $70 - $150. I think that is a little much for a barrel with a couple of holes in it!

I found plastic drums for $5/each. DH found the do-it-yourself materials, and he will be making them this weekend. I am excited about the project!
