Depending on when it is I might be interested in swinging by to socialize and see some faces, but I generally don't do much in the way of swapping. I just grow out what I need and don't usually have lots of extras.

Not too soon for this Spring. This has been excellent!

Been working outside again. Potted up:
1. horehound
2. lovage
3. echinops (we'll see if it grows)
4. lots of iris rhizomes (antique lavender)
5. siberian iris (deep purple)
Recycling lots of grass!!!
Hope to have many peppers and tomatoes to share, too.

Is it too late to change the date to the May 6th choice? On May 5th we are holding our 4th annual MayDay celebration. We make flower garlands for our hair, do a Maypole, etc., and welcome spring in a lovely way. This year it coincides with Cinco de Mayo so we are going to work that in a little bit somehow (drink tequila?)

Anyway, I haven't been reading gardenweb much this winter. (There still being a bit of snow on the ground in the shade here, I feel confident calling this winter.) In March I was busy ccampaigning for the high school board. I lost, just barely, but it was very interesting and kept me occupied so much that I haven't started any tomatoes or peppers yet!

I could offer the oregano and chocolate mint someone asked for, I have lots of irises, nice groundcovers, and lots of seeds like bachelor buttons (pink and blue), morning glories (blue and fuchsia), multicolored marigolds, black-eyed susans, etc. I have plants all over my yard to share, as last year's SE WI plant swappers will recall.

If you can't change the date, don't worry, I will just have to pay more attention next spring!

Unfortunately, May 6 doesn't work for me. Led_zep_rules, maybe you could kick off May Day with the plant swap? If so, I would be interested in your marigolds and oregano. I've got plenty of tomatoes and peppers to share!

I'm still making a list, but I should have dahlias (Lavender Perfection, Bliss, Ala Mode), Pearl Everlasting, Stachys Helen von Stein, shasta daisy Alaska, anise hyssop, and rudbekia Indian Summer to name a few. To anyone going, let me know if you'd be interested in any of these.

I couldn't go anywhere before my own MayDay thing. Anytime I am having people over to my house, you can bet I will be busy cleaning and making food until the moment the guests arrive. My gardens are not tidy and organized, my house and life aren't either!

I could mail Rich a whole bunch of marigold seeds. He could give them to people who show up, and use some himself to surround some plants he doesn't want the rabbits to eat. (He had rabbit problems last year.) These are lovely bicolored ones that smell a lot in that marigold way that annoys bugs and bunnies. Only time I have gotten to eat a homegrown beet in years was when I grew some inside a ring of these marigolds.

Hi, Just sat down to see what was new on the Wisconsin site and found this plant swap being planned. I'd like to join you all if I can get some plants together. I had a chocolate mint some years ago, but seem to have lost it somewhere along the way. Would like to pick up another of those and the pineapple mint, too.

I now have conflicts with mornings on that weekend, so let's move to late afternoon on May 5 or 6.
If anyone wants catnip, let me know now before I nuke it.

In that case I will continue my campaign for it to be on May 6th, so that I could attend. But if not, don't worry, have a good time. The one last year turned out well and I am sure this one will, too. Only thing is, I hope everything you want to swap will be up by then? A lot of my plants are still underground, although a few weeks of this nice weather and I suppose everything will be very perky.

Rich, if you are going to Racine on Tuesday you certainly could stop by here to get some seeds for people and a few plants to give away. Chocolate mint for sure and I don't know what else. I don't really need anything back, you can use them in your own trades. I got so many extra plants last year at the plant swap at my house . . . I could give you some perennial poppies that don't die maybe, Rich. :-)

Mommie_rose, I can't believe it, this years all my Green Pepper seedlings died too, all of a sudden! This never happened before. I redid them and got some more coming up but they won't be big by first week in May.

Granilege, I'll bring some Ajuga, I have the red/purple. I can never get the green/gray to come back after winter. Must be more sensitive? I can't think of anything I NEED. do you have any unusual Hosta, like Praying Hands? I am looking for some upright rather than spreading hosta. I am also looking for minis like Cracker Crumb. I have a small yard. You don't have to give me a whole split, I'll even take two or three eyes. Reserve a tomatoe plant for me!

I have three different kinds of Spider Wort. I have lots of Moneywort too. Anyone want Yucca? Datura seeds? Sedum? Black Hollyhock?
