I don't have a Kerria bush but would like to try one in my zone 4-5 area. I've never seen one and your post was the first I had heard of it. Do you know a mail order company that sells them? I've been wanting something for shade in front of my dark brown house. This would be nice.

The only place I've seen it sold is Steins. I'm not sure it is right for our area, actually, it's doubtful, but I was wondering if anyone has tried it.

I've grown the double flowered kerria for many years. It has had occasional tip dieback in the winter but nothing more.

It is unfortunately a taste treat for deer and rabbits so it must be protected especially over the winter. I use bird netting. Even if eaten down it will regrow but may not bloom if all the old wood is gone.
