Two of the last five yrs we've had killing frost the last week of May.. in central Wis. Forecasts are like promises.. only good for that moment.

Wouldn't put anything out you didnt have the means to cover well.......... very well.

Thanks for bringing me back to my senses! Maybe just the beans, they are always easy to replant.

I was thinking of planting my tomatoes early since we'd had such a nice spring, but this last week of cold and wet has probably put the soil temps behind again. And I'm out of town next weekend, so it will be Memorial Day before I can plant out if I don't do it now. So I'll be good and wait.

I may put out two Sun Sugar tomatoes and two Early Girl tomatoes tomorrow. I will then cover them with gallon jugs with the bottoms and caps removed. In event of frost any time soon, I would also cover them with old fabric things - drapes, blankets, etc.

The rest of the plants will wait another week.

I am down on the IL border and I am going to plant everything next weekend.

I am planting all flowers.. petunias, verbena, LOTS of dahlias, dreadlocks, impatiens, begonias, African daiseys, hollyhocks (they are planted) and.. 30 more kinds lol.

I do not plan on covering anything from here on out.

I think we are in the clear!

I'm south of Green Bay and I'm potting my cherry tomatoes this weekend. They're easy to move indoors if need be. Based on the forecast, I will be planting the rest of my veggie garden mid next week. That's about a week earlier than normal, but I think they'll be fine. Warm weather returning ...woohoo!!! :)
