I need to know what this small tree is. Hubby is removing some trees tomorrow and want to know if this is a native/invasive/etc. don't have a good tree guide. I don't have a pict so will try my best...

It has small leaves (1 1/2" x 1") that are kinda wedge shaped (wider at end than base) that grow often in whirls. Slighly teeth at end of wedge to barely a point.

Branches are in tiers-very pretty growth habit. and occasional long thorns 1-2".

It has a few branches that look like they are going to bloom with flower clusters facing upwards.

About 12 foot on edge of timber line.

Any ideas?
