Finally found the post on Name That Plant! That is a busy forum.
It is not a Lily. Possibly a member of the Orchid Family.
I would guess that it's Pogonia ophioglossoides (Snakemouth Orchid). A native of most of Eastern NA. It is usually found in wet or boggy locations in Coastal GA, but does grow in the Mtns. A friend related that he found some in North GA in past years when he did timber cruises for a paper co.
