Spider Mites in vegetable garden

This year I had a horrible problem with spider mites on my beans that started to spread to other areas of the garden. Speckled leaves, with spidery webs and browning foliage. Before I realized the issue I planted fall lettuce near the beans and they are showing signs of mite infestation. I want to prevent the mites from coming back next year so I ripped out all the infected plants in the garden and will burn them. But have the mites already laid eggs in the soil for next year? Should i treat my soil to prevent the mites from coming back next year. Last year i had a bumper crop of beans, and this year i harvested only 20 or so beans. Major let down.
