Has anyone grown this Aster?

While reading an article in my Horticulture magazine, I came across a new (for me) kind of Aster, tataricus,'Jindai'. The foliage is reported to look like romaine lettuce and stays crisply green from late spring until fall, when it is topped with clouds of purple daisies on strong stems reaching to five feet.

Do any of you grow this plant? I think I may order it next spring and give it a try. I found a site with a good photo.

    Julie,
I havent grown it. It says it is deer resistant? Are not asters eaten by deer. The reason why I am asking because I cant grow them something keeps eating them. I put cages around them hopefully next year they will bloom. That is a neat plant. barb

    Rosepedal,

I haven't had trouble with deer eating my Asters, or anything else in my gardens. We are surounded by woods, and I think the deer seldom venture out, except into our neighbor's huge asparagus patch. (Now watch - just because I said that, they'll probably have a feast in my gardens next year).
