You'll love the change! I was in zone 4, (upper catskills) and moved back to zone 7 (lawn guyland). I DO NOT miss shoveling out from bi-monthly four-footers or feeling my eyeballs and lungs freeze when I step outside and it's a balmy 17 below zero.

You will go bonkers nuts in your garden ;-) Down here, if I can get a trowel or shovel in the ground I will. January and February are my favorite transplant months. You have at least three more months of quality garden time to look forward too. I wish happiness and good health in your new home. You will never get out of that garden, you are gonna be out there all the time and it's gonna be your own Eden to make all your own.

Katy, I wish you much happiness in moving south. Those of us who were born in the south sometimes have trouble understanding how 'home' could be any better than here. I had a better understanding when I visited North Dakota in the winter and a lady told me she didn't think she could stand to live where she 'couldn't see a long way.'

The Atlanta Journal Constitution has one of the best Garden sections I've seen online, with wonderful photos. When you furnish a first name, email and password, it takes you to a wonderland of local gardens and garden information.

Eddie's friend Tara Dillard's blog is a great 'get to know gardening in Atlanta' site, too. Just search for 'Tara Dillard.'

Will you be moving before the azaleas bloom? The Dogwood Festival is usually first week in April. Oh, what joys in store for you!
