Glowing 'Eyes'

This insect has "eyes" that illuminate like a lightning bug except they don´t flash on and off like one. When the "eyes" were off and I lightly stroked it´s back and they would illuminate. I´ve never seen anything like it. I encountered the insect outside my home at 7000´ in Colombia. Anyone know what it is? About 3.5 cm long.

It's a click beetle, but I don't know which specific one.

The "eyes" aren't eyes after all; they're just spots on the thorax.
